It is 30% more profitable to use original spare parts for Claas combine harvesters than cheaper analogues - proven by field tests.
It has been proven in real research by the Chamber of Agriculture in Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) that real knives for the JAGUAR forage harvester are 30% more efficient than their counterparts.
What was the research?
4 large-scale tests were carried out, according to the results of which, original components for equipment turned out to be the most cost-effective. The total operating costs per hectare of land at CLAAS ORIGINAL turned out to be more than a third less than similar analogues.
So, when harvesting corn grains, several types of CLAAS knives were tested: shear plates, knives that throw blades from the manufacturer and common, cheaper analogues. For the purity of the experiment, all parts were purchased on the German market at retail prices. Since the ratio of the prices of original and analogue components in the markets of all powers is usually preserved, the results obtained are considered true for different regions.
Testing original Claas knives
With CLAAS ORIGINAL maize knives, after a full cultivation of 360 hectares of fields, the sharpness of the knife blades and the residual coating on them of 14 mm were maintained, which became sufficient for the cultivation of an additional 840 hectares with the same blades. After tests with analogues on 580 hectares, the residual coating on analogue knives was about 5 mm, there were zones of strong "washout". These indicators made it possible to use them to continue work on only 180 hectares.
It turns out that in this way, the total useful productivity of CLAAS branded parts is almost 1200 ha instead of 760 ha for analogue ones. When all costs are taken into account, it is clear that non-original parts are generally 33% less cost-effective than CLAAS ORIGINAL.
The higher cost of branded spare parts is also justified when harvesting green mass. The use of non-original parts, in general, turned out to be 28% more expensive in the end. All due to the fact that they had to be replaced more often during operation.
In turn, the CLAAS ORIGINAL shearing knives showed almost 2 times higher efficiency than their counterparts. The total cost of cleaning 1 hectare for real blades turned out to be 33% lower, which is significant.
Throwing blades also showed increased wear resistance. When installing non-original spare parts, it was possible to process 930 hectares, and 1400 hectares with branded ones.
